The Medical Humanities Book Club is an informal gathering of GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences students, faculty, and staff to discuss books (usually novels) of interest to those in the healthcare profession. Every few months, the Department of Internal Medicine Book Club brings residents, fellows, and attendings together to discuss the humanistic side of medicine through reading. Please join us for our first event of this academic year on Tuesday, Sept. 8 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge. I’d like to organize a group of science and medicine enthusiasts who appreciate great science writing and focus on one book per month, meeting virtually for the time being.

This is a media-based discussion group geared toward Stanford Health affiliates, students, staff, and faculty. We meet once a month to explore issues relevant to racism in medicine through the written word and videos. We are always open to new members. A collection of the previous covered content.

This is truly a passion project! How does the book club work? The Leadership in Medicine (LIM) Program is an 8-year BS/MBA/MD combined degree program between Union College in Schenectady, New York and Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. The LIM Book Review Club is currently run by Rose Parisi '20/24, a Leadership in Medicine student. The Duke Department of Medicine book club, led by GIM faculty member, Laura Caputo, MD, has been gaining attention and attendance since it started back in January of 2015. They have been meeting every 2-3 months since then and they cover a wide range of topics.
